Hi Everyone
We have just finalised the statistics for the weekend’s major event the 13th National Historic Machinery Association Rally held at Fairbridge Village near Pinjarra in Western Australia:
• We had over 13,000 day trippers over the weekend
• We had over 400 people in cottage accommodation at Fairbridge Village
• We had over 640 people over 4 days in the temporary fully powered caravan park we built on site at Fairbridge Village
• A major event dinner was held on the Saturday night for 600 delegates
• The region’s accommodation facilities and caravan parks were filled with tourists attending the event
• The event was the largest historic machinery event ever held in Western Australia
• Over 1,000 exhibitors took part in the event
• Over 50% of the exhibitors came from the Eastern States
• A Tractor was even brought over from America for the event
• Overseas visitors came from:
• Cornwall (people from Cornwall view themselves as not being from England)
• Ireland
• New Zealand
• Wales
• England
• America
Besides the number of semitrailers that were driven across the Nullarbor for the event 2 of the tractors in the exhibitions were actually driven across Australia to attend with one couple driving their tractor from Ballarat via Darwin to Fairbridge Village leaving in May and arriving the end of August.
As the only charity in Australia that owns and operates a heritage listed town site, being Fairbridge Village, all of the revenue from the gate takings from this event will go toward our work with young people. Please visit our website at www.fairbridge.asn.au for further information
Kind regards

Well, what a Rally that was .....
Dot and I have been to 11 National Rallies in the past and I can truthfully say we have never seen a line-up like that put on at Fairbridge.
I know people will say that because we are West Aussies we would be biased, but truthfully I have never seen such broadly based lots of displays ever before. There were things of interest for everyone with no great amount of duplication of anything.
I would like to congratulate everyone who helped to make the weekend go off with such a bang. There was a great amount of hard work put in by many and that has brought a really terrific amount of success.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Tracmac as their line-up of gear will not be equalled for a long long time.
Thanks to everyone for a job well done!

Hi All
Please may I pass on my thanks and thanks from my companions who visted Fairbridge yesterday, 4th September .
I would think that thousands of people young and old would wish to pass there gratititude on for such a great display over the three days .
My two chums are both retired experienced engineers of some note so know what is good about our hobby .
I am sure you are all proud of the achievements of the M.P.C.and the other Clubs and Societies who contributed to the Event .

Hi Ralph and Wendy
Thank you again to both of you, for all of your help and being so easy and enjoyable to work with – I don’t think I would have coped without you!!!! J
(Maybe it had something to do with a familiar accent?!)
Many Thanks Again!
Take Care
Dianne Wing, Marketing Fairbridge.
Thanks
Grateful thanks also to our volunteers, particularly the non NHMA members; who did an outstanding job, spending a lot of hours directing traffic, and helping locating caravans on the site of the temporary caravan park.
Cheers
Ralph and Wendy.
Thanks
Firstly I hope this finds you all well and recovered from your busy few weeks prior and at the National Rally. Well done to all. I only know too well how hard it is to keep everybody happy, as I have run a number of large events and to top it off was the C.E.O. when we ran the 1997 World Ploughing Contest in Geelong.
Congratulations go to everyone and the catering staff doing the evening meals at Fairbridge which were excellent in my opinion. Hoping that you came out of it financially well and Fairbridge were also happy with the event.
After running the event it is always great to look forward to the next National Rally - 2013 Mudgee NSW and take a rest and enjoy the rally without any worries. Hoping that we can meet up again with you all at Mudgee.
Once again thanks for a terrific and enjoyable rally. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip across the Nullarbor and would certainly do it again.

We had a wonderful time at the Rally!
Please convey to your committee our appreciation of what hard work we know went
on behind the scenes and what a marvellous display and working exhibition was
set for the participants and the onlookers.
Goodonyermate!
Jenni & Adrian Barnes.
Thanks!
As the co-ordinator for the caravan park at the rally, I would like to thank all the people who volunteered to help with the job of parking the caravans; I ended up with more volunteers than I required.
Many of my helpers had no particular interest in vintage machinery, just a very nice community spirit and a willingness to work; and many of them worked 8 hours a day for 8 days. Well done! They all said they enjoyed helping and also looking around the rally.
This rally was my first, so I am unable to compare with previous rallies, but I enjoyed seeing a big selection of machinery and would have liked to have been able to spend more time talking to the owners of some of the exhibits.
I would also like to congratulate the rally committee for a job well done. Their 4 years of planning certainly resulted in a top rally; and the choice of Fairbridge as the venue was excellent.
I thought the decision to have gophers for hire was a good idea and it was well patronised. The use of 2 way radios for all the marshals proved to be invaluable, as the venue was over such a large area.

A Huge Success!
I personally thought the rally was a huge success as did most others that I have been in contact with. There were a couple of grumbles re the traffic jam on the Saturday but apart from these all others were very positive.
The use of the new building for the annual meeting and the dinner was great. Thank the management of Fairbridge for this.
The AGM meeting, was quite successful. The Committee now has a full compliment, something that has been lacking for a few years, and I feel that the new committeemen will really fit in well. A few 'tough' questions were fired at the NHMA but I did have at least three people come to me after the meeting to compliment the NHMA on the way things were handled.!
Congratulations WA on a great display & National Rally!!!

Well the NHMA 2011 National Rally is over and the dust has settled.
I would like to thank all exhibitors from near and far. What a marvellous assortment of machinery there was on display.
Also I would like to say a very big thank you to all the volunteers – only a small band of workers but what a marvellous job they did.
To our partners in hosting the NHMA Rally; we thank all the staff of Fairbridge Village for their hard work and professional assistance.
To all our sponsors, I thank you. We could not present a rally of this size without your help.
To my fellow committee members who have put so many hours into Committee meetings and planning; I thank you all. Our work was worth it when we had such a large turnout of exhibitors and 13,000 viewing public.
So, as one of my last duties as NHMA National Rally Chairman, I would like to say thank you to all involved in such a large display of heritage machinery.
I do believe we put Western Australia on the map with the biggest display of heritage machinery in one location in WA.
Thank you
Wayne Edmunds
NHMA 2011 National Rally Chairman
I think that you all did a wonderful job "WELL DONE"
If I could make a suggestion for Future Shows; it would be to insist that Music played over the P.A. system be Old, in keeping with the general concept of the Rally, and definitely not the type of music that was played continuously at Fairbridge.
The only disparaging comments that I received during that show was about the Terrible Music!!!!!!!!
